Barry Goldensohn's latest collection, The Hundred Yard Dash Man: New and Selected Poems, spans five decades of his poetry. The poems are erudite, pained, exultant, meditative or bawdy--and sometimes all of these moods at once. Sometimes the march of character is fictional, sometimes historical, and many times personal.
