Tran Quang Quy's poetry represents the best of the post-war generation of writers to emerge across Viet Nam during the last forty-five years. In the hands of two accomplished poets and literary translators in their own right, the English versions of these poems remarkably capture the deep undertone of irony that runs through Quy's poems.
