A collection of early writings from three of the most prominent figures in the Folkish movement, including essays and fiction by Guido von List, Lanz von Liebenfels and Rudolf John Gorsleben. Here, the Folkish philosophy is applied with humor and pathos to such varied topics as history, drama, religion, and politics, revealing the human side of the movement as never before. In the first part, List presents a brief essay on the reconstruction of the ancient Roman fort of Carnuntum, followed by a critical examination of the infamous Taxil hoax from Liebenfels. In the second, a short dramatic poem by List in the Wagnerian style precedes a darkly comedic full-length play on the subject of aristocracy by Gorsleben.
