Frank Spragg originally wrote a book titled Face the Music Education-The Great Salem-Keizer School District Music Program, which takes a comprehensive look at how a successful music program functions. Face the Music Education was extensive enough that Spragg's publisher, suggested the last chapter be made into a separate book, Faces of Music, A Salem-Keizer Connection. This has been a good choice because Faces of Music stands well on its own. It features people for whom music has become a career, for others an avocation, and for still others a vital impact on their lives. This panoply of experience adds to the argument that music education should continue to be an indelible component in our public schools.
