Over the course of a long day in New York City, Peter Kafka's life will change.

When Peter Kafka wakes up one morning after a torturous night being attacked by mosquitoes in his gorgeous New York apartment, his morning does not go as planned. In fact, the next twenty-four hours take a wrong turn early on and the events keep getting worse . . . and worse . . . and worse.

Destined to be an artist, but working as a curator in an art gallery, Kafka's whole world tips sideways when he decides to be brave, and present his work to his boss, Sam Toohey. But her reception is less than positive, and this sends him reeling, back out onto the streets of New York, to confront his demons.

As his story unravels, Peter must reconcile what happened with Sam, and his role in the tragic events of his past, before he can truly come into his own as an artist. During this magical, metaphysical, absurd even at times, night he spends in the city, he meets Daiane, another wandering soul. The two connect, a bright spot in Peter's day, and it's their relationship that might ultimately save him. Or, perhaps not?because Peter may be forever destined to be in the vicious cycle of his own existence.
