With the color of a single token, Bex and Ben's lives will be changed forever. Now, instead of simply being the only human refugees on an alien planet, the Intergalactic Union will be sending them on their first mission. The only problem is that they are placed on opposing sides.

As long as the mission stays on course, and no one veers from the Union's commands, then no one has to die. But what happens when Bex and Ben find out that their mission is to kill the very last humans in the galaxy-and possibly each other?

Suddenly, the two find themselves navigating both the dangerous territories of an unknown universe, and the growing feelings that they have for each other. With no way to tell which aliens to trust and which will turn on them faster than they can blink, the two find new friendships in the most unusual of places, and enemies hiding behind every corner.

When one of them is afflicted by an unknown threat, it will be a race against time to see not only if they can both survive, but if any of the planets will be spared the overreaching destruction of the Union.
