Aprašymas
This book examines the Electoral Act, 2026 as a major stage in Nigeria's continuing electoral reform process and assesses its implications for democratic development. The analysis focuses on the statutory architecture governing the Independent National Electoral Commission, voter registration, election administration, technological accreditation, result transmission and collation, political-party nomination, campaign finance, electoral offences, accessibility and election petitions. Particular attention is given to the relationship between legal rules and institutional capacity. The book argues that the Act creates important opportunities for greater legal certainty, traceability, participation, accountability and electoral justice, but that these benefits are conditional on the effective implementation of the Act by all the electoral stakeholders.
