When her book club is invited to a rehearsal of a newly discovered Shakespeare play, semi-retired witch Agnes Hale is curious enough to attend. Even if she has her doubts about its authenticity. But the evening unravels when a notorious newspaper critic disrupts the performance, turning up dead later that same night. With her cat Rover by her side, Agnes is drawn into the mystery. Between the victim's reputation, and his complicated personal life, there are more suspects than seems entirely reasonable...
