John Charles Ryle (1816-1900) was the gifted Bishop of Liverpool and author of numerous books, including his Expository Thoughts on the Gospels, intended to be used for Family Worship. Although not as well-known, Revs. Lowther Barrington, John Crawshaw, and Lyman A. Eddy were also men gifted and faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and especially concerned about the sound instruction of the little lambs of Christ's flock.
