Meet Star! Raised by her Grandmother Ann in the brutal areas of Philadelphia. Star had learned her mother would be returning home from prison, after many years of struggling with drug addiction and a violent lifestyle. Feeling distraught knowing that she would be taken from the only home she had known, she became confused.

As Star began to adapt to the transition of being taken away from Ann, Star's life took a drastic turn. Which left her to the inability of being able to walk. Suffering from an extreme loss that completely overwhelmed her, leads Star to confide in her best friend Maria. With some of the chaos she faced after Star felt neglected, and alone in her grief. Lacking comfort along with guidance from Ann, Star became rebellious turning to the streets for love.

Taking Maria up on her offer of one night of fun, At 15 years old that's when Star met Steve. A 32-year- old drug Lord in the streets of Kensington, a neighborhood in Philly. Ann decided she could no longer deal with Star's choices. That's when Star was forced to face life on her own. That one night experience takes Star's life in a direction she doesn't want to go.
