The Cabinet of the Wry Witness is a poetic cabinet of curiosities.

Organised into seven symbolic drawers, the collection journeys through landscapes of beauty, systems of belief, medicine, cultural spectacle, melancholy, artistic inheritance and renewal.

Mountains become human levellers. Institutions become exhibits. Scientists, philosophers, conspiracists, entertainers, lovers and artists are examined with equal measures of fascination, humour, scepticism and sympathy. Throughout the collection, the witness observes a civilisation attempting to understand itself while simultaneously distracting itself from its own limitations.

The poems move between philosophical meditation, social satire, personal reflection and cultural criticism, exploring questions of mortality, memory, freedom, conformity, transcendence and the enduring necessity of creativity.

At its centre lies a simple proposition: that modern life can still be observed with curiosity, wit and intellectual seriousness, and that art remains one of the few places where contradiction, uncertainty and wonder may coexist.

The Cabinet of the Wry Witness is not a manifesto, nor a confession, but an archive of observations assembled by a witness who refuses either despair or certainty.
