The Big Big Birthday (el. knyga) (skaityta knyga) | knygos.lt

Aprašymas

At the end
of a long wooden table, in a small wooden cabin, James sits alone with a cake
before him. Today is his birthday, and although he has not a single friend, he
hopes for a joyous day. Little does he know, his birthday wish is about to come
storming through the door, the floors, the walls, and the window! What begins as a meditation on loneliness transforms into an absurd, textured series of surprises as a wild cast of characters vie for the limelight. Chaos
ensues as various forest animals swoop into James's cabin to claim that it is,
in fact, their birthday - and all singing loudly to boot. Ala Flora's
coloured pencil illustrations are vibrant and surreal, the perfect
accompaniment to NYT bestselling author Gideon Sterer's dry, comic storytelling
style.A story
that will appeal particularly to shy children, The Big Big Birthday is a
topsy-turvy tale about solitude and company, coming together, and letting
loose.
