April Lewis is a rebellious teenager who is constantly getting into trouble. Her life has been in a downward spiral ever since her father abandoned her family and left her mother with a broken heart. Her grandmother, Mary Lewis is a widow who spends most of her time volunteering at Mt Zion Baptist Church. Keeping busy at church helped her survive the death of her husband and her daughter shutting her out of their lives.
Two years later, when April's mother gets arrested, Mary is relieved to finally be reunited with her three grandbabies. The problem is that April is no longer the sweet little girl she remembered. Desperate to save her, Mary turns to Pastor Zachariah Williams for help. Just when Mary thinks that God has answered her prayers for second chances, April makes an accusation and everyone's world gets turned upside down.
