Berlin, 1938. Corran Rutherford's work in the German capital appears to be routinely secretarial, issuing visas and passports, despite the gathering clouds of war. But so much more is at stake. The unstoppable tide of fascism has led to the network of British Passport Control Offices being used as cover for the secret services who are running agents and gathering intelligence across Europe. In plain sight of the Nazi authorities, Corran and Frank Foley, head of the Passport Control Office and spy, put their lives on the line to help individuals and families flee Germany.
