He states: "We are living with the consequences of ideas accepted many generations ago, and as a result of those decisions, we are losing our religion..." The truths of Christianity, which are found especially in the Sacred Scriptures, which inspired Saint Benedict are timeless. What was true two millenia ago is still true today. We should measure all modern teaching against the timeless truths of Christianity, rather than attempting to mold Christianity to the changing thinking of the world. As we read in Romans (12:1): "And be not conformed to this world; but be reformed in the newness of your mind, that you may prove what is the good, and the acceptable, and the perfect will of God."
