Mary Andrews Smith, through her Tuttle ancestors was the cousin of many distinguished Americans including Jonathan Edwards, Aaron Burr, Winston Churchill, Edith Kermit Carow (Mrs. Theodore Roosevelt), Grover Cleveland and General Ulysses S. Grant.
