Silly Willy the green turtle has gotten himself tangled up in a piece of plastic trash. She must enlist the help of Crabby, a shy little red crab who thinks he has nothing to offer. Little does he know his claws contain the power to set Willy free. Once the sand settles from the rescue mission, our trio embarks on the task of ridding the seashore of every last scrap of trash. In order to do so two more friends are added to the cast of characters, Squishy the Squid and Hailey Jo the human heroine. They become lasting friends on that day in the bay, as the stage is set for the second picture book to come.
This story teaches children how to break out of their comfort zone, working together to help one another, instilling in them a sense of ownership and responsibility for our planet. This playful and positive portrait of personal choice empowers while delighting the younger generation of readers.
