Between December 1938 and September 1939, thousands of fearful families put their children on trains to escape Nazi-occupied countries and find safety in England from Hitler's cruelty and the coming war. Most of them would never see their children again.

The authors' primary research brings together documents, interviews and stories told by real-life Kinder from the oral history archives of Gratz College.
