Aprašymas

The first major monograph on Mexico's most exciting and internationally prominent architect, Tatiana Bilbao.

Originated and devised by Tatiana Bilbao herself, this in-depth monograph shows off the architect's unusual and considered approach to communicating her work through illustration and collage. Unlike most architecture monographs - which simply present the finished work - this book puts the unique design process of the practice centre stage, with the first half unfolding as an expression of the studio's creativity, followed by photographs of twenty-one projects chosen by Tatiana to best reflect twenty years of work.

The book investigates how these houses, parks, chapels, public spaces and the like relate to their environment, as well as how they fit into the idea of a 'city of rooms' by reflecting the purpose of spaces in the home - to linger, release tension, to foster relationships, for economic activity, for example - within the wider world. The projects included are in France, Spain, Germany and the US, as well as in Tatiana's home country of Mexico.

Tatiana Bilbao Estudio's work is always informed by a social conscience and a desire to create architecture that is beneficial for all that encounter it, an endeavour that will chime with aspiring architects fed up with the status quo. Richly illustrated, and designed by fellow female-led Mexican practice, Estudio Hererra, this beautiful book offers an inspirational insight into one of the most exciting architecture practices in the world right now.
