When I began my service work in the recovery community I had little personal sobriety. At the time, I only knew two things: that I was sick, and that my sickness would infect my two boys just like my dad's illness had infected me. These two truths gave me the drive and motivation in the more than nineteen years since, to first find wholeness in life, and second, to develop the tools that will help me sustain sobriety. It has been a battle that's spawned the passion I have to share these truths with others.
