Aprašymas

It is a certain fact that a famiy with a huge house must be in want of a horse

Twenty-four-year old Emma is awoken by a panicked phone call from her friend Cecy, who is leaving her husband. Cecy then abandons her horse in a trailer outside Emma's London flat and goes out of phone contact.

Emma, uncertain what to do, takes advice from a stranger in the street and on her advice drives the horse to a rural estate, Cummerbund Manor, which, she is told, has a suitable set of stables.

A family with a large house must be in need of a horse.

Instead, she finds a dead body in an outhouse: Cecy's husband, Leicester.

The owners of Cummerbund Manor call the police, who, already confused by Emma's unlikely story, then find blood on the trailer floor: Leicester's blood.

And Cecy has completely disappeared.

Arrested for murder, Emma's only hope is an unlikely pair: the sharp twelve-year-old daughter of the Cummerbund house, Mon, and Miranda from the SeeMs Detective Agency. Together they must unravel a web of family secrets before it is too late.
