A year after the devastation of Gettysburg, the Union remains in peril, Confederate offensives and Peace Democrats seeking to oust a beleaguered Lincoln from the presidency. The perspective of the conflict's final nine months changes from high-ranking figures, like John Bell Hood and Phil Sheridan, to more humble soldiers, such as the sharpshooting rebel rover and the Sollers brothers; two privates fighting for the Union, both serving in different armies.
