I'm a Stormwalker-which means I can use the power of storms to work some wild and wicked magic. I've opened a hotel in a little town in the desert, where powerful vortexes house dangerous and evil beings that I need to make sure stay put.

When I'm attacked one night on the open road, an innocent bystander is killed-cousin of the local sheriff, who's not too happy with me. I try to warn him of the continuing danger, but he's curiously oblivious-for reasons I find out later.

The attack also alerts my on-again, off-again boyfriend, Mick, the man I made myself walk away from years ago. Now he's back, and I have to decide whether to give into my intense cravings for him or continue to fight alone.

The trouble is, incredible evil is rising, and I'll have to trust Mick, the sheriff, my estranged family, a mouthy magic mirror, and the drifter who calls himself Coyote to battle forces that will unmake the world if we don't stop them.

But if we win, will they allow me to exist with the fiendish twist of power that lies within me?
