Jane Hart brings much to this project: her professional training and diverse experience as a board-certified art therapist have made her comfortable and compassionate towards those who are worried or afraid of feeling alone; her earlier career (under the name of Jane Marks) as a journalist and author includes: "We Have a Problem: a Parents' Sourcebook, and "The Hidden Children: The Secret Survivors of the Holocaust" have given her a deep acquaintance with suffering and healing; her well-known portraits of people and animals have brought joy and comfort to those who have commissioned them. These different experiences and skills give the book a depth and texture, and quality that make a profound and lasting impression.

While this collection is only a sample of the daily drawings that Hart has posted on Facebook (PetsbyhART) and Instagram (Art by Jane Hart) since the pandemic began, each drawing and caption in this book is uniquely strange, unexpected, irreverent, comforting, loving and laugh-out-loud funny.
