Sharon is a young and talented girl growing up in St. Petersburg, Florida. She is on top of the world until a chance encounter on a beach leads to a rape and a narrow escape from certain death. She survives and goes on to receive multiple degrees, traveling, and becoming a self-made millionaire by age 40. However, her life is a roller coaster, going from success and achievement to PTSD, disastrous love affairs and harrowing adventures. Her marriage to a doctor from the Philippines provides even more drama, with suspicion, infidelity, and increasing danger. When her husband teams up with her brother-in-law to control Sharon's life, she embarks on a journey in and out of mental institutions, hospitals, and jails, trying to come to terms with her own life and the demons that plague her.
