He is surrounded in this novel by his dad, who is assistant G.M. at a large casino, his mom, two sisters, a yellow Labrador retriever, his two sisters, and a virtual comedy act of his grandmother and her boyfriend. His company is a group of five men, four ex combat veterans, and a computer hacker. Lots of the comedy is provided by his 80sh grandmother, Doris, who likes her wine and her men. His sisters evolve in the book and face some real-life hurdles.
