Book consists of five hundred and sixty-two proverbs from English, Roman, Greek, Italian, French, Spanish, Hebrew, and American ethnic origins, plus other countries. Commentary consists of satirical and sometimes up-to-date scenarios and situations. Example: PROVERB - "It's too late to shut the stable doors after the horses have gone." COMMENTARY - "Company to manufacture holders to keep doors open in case the horses decide to come back." Example: PROVERB - "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush." COMMENTARY - "Bush birds institute libel suit against hand birds; claim equal or greater value."
