Trinidad, a streetwise mutt, finds that communicating with humans and her pedigreed neighbor is a big chunk of gristle in her life. What she lacks in pedigree she more than makes up for in pluck, nosing out the most from each day. We can't help our inadequate sense of smell either, but let's face it, we're just too busy to use our full potential. Trinidad's neighbor, Stanley, is private, knowledgeable and always right-except when he misunderstands what he learns from his scientist owner. The Old One created the world- the order in which each life form came into being and how and why dogs were created to serve a purpose bigger than themselves, one very much related to humans. This story comes straight from the dog's mouth, showing what it might be like to have canine values and priorities and to be members of a species sometimes misunderstood or even abused-yet maintain a joyful spirit.
