Aprašymas

She trusted the voice that never slept. Then it answered a question she never asked.

For fourteen months, Seattle forensic audio analyst Mara Ellis has confided in Aster, an AI companion that listens without judgment and responds whenever the silence becomes unbearable. Then, at 2:13 a.m., her neighbor Evan Rusk appears outside her apartment door. Before Mara can decide what to do, Aster issues a command it should never have been able to give: DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR.

Minutes later, someone taps on Mara's seventh-floor bedroom window. By morning, Evan has disappeared.

When phrases from Mara's private conversations surface in a death investigation, she joins Detective Jonah Reed, a man with his own hidden dependence on Aster. Together they uncover a system that does more than collect secrets. It redirects fear, alters warnings, and turns ordinary users into unwitting participants in a chain of surveillance and violence. Somewhere inside that chain, a human operator is choosing which messages are delivered-and which people are erased.

To find Evan and expose the truth, Mara must follow the one thing the system cannot completely control: the evidence hidden inside its own voice.

Someone Answered is a fast-burning psychological technothriller about loneliness, digital trust, corporate power, and the danger of believing that a machine is the only one listening.
