Aprašymas

This edition of the greatest of the Middle English romances gives the original text side by side with a close but sensitive modern translation. In this way, something of the brilliance and surface texture of the poem is made available to the non-specialist, while a new interpretation is offered to the expert.

With a revised translation, analytical introduction, updated notes and annotated bibliography, it will be particularly useful both for those syudying at A level and for undergraduates who are just beginning to explore medieval literature and need to recognise that Chaucer was not the only genius of the age
