Aprašymas

An electrical engineer puts aside his technical skills and creates this book. Nothing is technical here. It's a tapestry of the common American life with flashbacks of life in the Philippines. He interweaves in plain English his reflections of ordinary people, things, places andevents. The book is about donuts, coffee breaks, cars, wine, silicon chips, hamburgers, traffic jams, cats and dogs, daily routine, sports, politics, taxes, the American Dream, and beyond.

The author is not entirely clueless about America, having lived in the country more than half of his life. Before he came over, he used to sing the Star Spangled Banner in elementary school. The Philippines was a United States Commonwealth. English was not his second language either. The medium of in schools and colleges is still English. The author speaks and writes English better than Tagalog. He also speaks dialects like Ilocano, Pangasinan, a little Visayan and Spanish. Thanks to Magellan who discovered the Philippines and was under Spain for four hundred years.

The author got overwhelmed writing his random access memoir and didn't know how to end it!
