Stories by an Iranian woman, Sima Nahan, who grew up in Iran and came of age in America. The stories explore the internal landscape of a woman who belongs to two cultures, Iranian and American, and two historical periods, before and after the revolution in Iran. Nahan captures the struggles and contradictions of being bicultural on the one hand, and delights in the richness and freedom it offers, on the other. Her accounts of pre-revolution Iran persist in revealing the falseness of the cultural revolution in Iran as well as of the perception of Iran in the US.
