For Stephen Cramer, the possibility of collaborating with the greatest author of all time was too great an opportunity to pass up. In these blackout poems, Cramer used the first and last pages of each of Shakespeare's plays and crossed out letters and words to come up with his own "poems." The process is not unlike that of a sculptor who, like Michelangelo shaping David, takes a piece of marble and chisels away at it to discover the form within. On these pages, readers are invited to enjoy the final outcome. Lastly, let it not be unsaid: the blasphemous rogue Stephen Cramer extends all apologies and gratitude to the Bard.
