Aprašymas
In the wake of global concern over conflict-related sexual violence, this volume examines the gendered legacies of World War II across the "Global Easts." Focusing on East Asia and Eastern Europe, it explores how sexual violence-from the Japanese military's "comfort women" system to violence committed by German and Soviet forces-has been remembered, silenced, or politicized, while addressing wartime violence, postwar justice, selective remembrance, and media representations.
Edited by Joohee Kim and Maren Röger, the volume connects these regions through shared historical conditions shaped by imperial domination, Cold War divisions, and the belated emergence of survivors' voices.
