Aprašymas
"What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."
No promise in Scripture has been quoted more often by people who are not praying. For more than a century the teachers of New Thought and the law of attraction have read those words as the charter of a technique: hold the image, affirm the outcome, refuse the doubt, and an impersonal Mind is obliged to deliver. It is a magnificent system. It is also built on a sentence that says something else entirely.
Servant, Not Sovereign takes that system seriously enough to answer it properly. Across forty-seven chapters it works through Troward, the Fillmores, Holmes, Goddard, Murphy, Hill, Peale and the preachers of the word of faith - granting what is true in each, and showing exactly where a Father becomes a mechanism. Then it does the harder thing, and recovers the prayer they replaced: not a method for getting, but a request made to Someone who hears.
The subconscious mind is real, and its work is magnificent. It is also a servant. So are we.
