Aprašymas

Santa Rita: Echoes from the Village and Beyond, is a whimsical, mosaic of tales that captures
the heartbeat of Caribbean village life, where the ordinary becomes sensationalized and the
ancestral echoes live on. Set against the kaleidoscopic backdrop of backyards, muddy pathways,
gayelles and forested trails on the outskirts of Sangre Grande, the collection beautifully
captures the past that we all love to reminisce about. From the quaint and mythical characters
to the village drunks and gossipers, the stories revisit the community of people bound by
shared experiences. In these villages, the diverse perspectives, generational gaps, cultural
transmission and awkward socials lend gracious splendour to the follies, conflicts, losses,
eccentricities, misunderstandings and evolving relationships in village life. What does not
separate the villagers, binds them together. This nostalgic medley of stories beckons us to take
a journey into the past, to experience what defines us and has become part of our cultural
heritage. A tailored narrative for everyone in the family to find a story that resonates with
them. Which will you choose to read first?
