Aprašymas

"Don Quixote" is often regarded as the greatest novel ever written. It has been translated into many languages, made into films and a musical, and has never been out of print for over 400 years. The often-eccentric approach to life on the part of its hero, has even given rise to the expression "Quixotic" and his bizarre antagonism; "tilting at windmills" is a well understood expression in the English language. What has been overlooked in the many adventures of the Knight Don Quixote and his peasant squire, Sancho, is that there were four characters in these adventures. The horse, so rudely named "Rocinante", was, in fact, very well bred and it was on one of his forefathers that El Cid rode into battle. Pancho's donkey, which was doubtless an Andalusian and sadly now very rare, carried not only Pancho but all the baggage as well. In this retelling of their famous adventures some of their escapades are seen anew through the eyes of the Horse and the Donkey, while others are told for the first time.
