In her first collection of poems, Zenobia Lundy takes us into the heart of West Philadelphia during the years following the arrival of thousands of black families who came north during the Great Migration seeking jobs and a better future. Lundy's neighborhood and the world beyond becomes highly alive in her hands as she explores the depth and breadth of ordinary black people in the wake of the Civil Rights Movement and into the 21st century.
