Travel through time with Tom's life "sliding door" choices and memoirs. Tom was born in Hollywood, California, the grandson of a silent film director. Tom followed in his grandfather's footsteps with a long and successful career in broadcasting.

His journey has included a Naval career in Hawaii as a survival swim instructor and as a flight deck catapult crew member on an aircraft carrier off the coast of Vietnam. While in Hawaii, he competed as a surfer in the 1963 Makaha International Championships. Following his two tours in Vietnam, he worked as a deep sea diver and scuba instructor.
When the "sliding doors" of life presented him with an unlikely and unstable career in broadcasting, he took the chance and began what resulted in a successful 35 years in LA radio and television. This unexpected career included 17 exciting years as an airborne news and traffic reporter, covering traffic, earthquakes, fires and other major events while flying over the skies of southern California.
