The sequel to Mark Enser's highly regarded Powerful Geography. There has been an explosion of interest in Powerful Knowledge since Powerful Geography was published. The first book explored the benefits of a curriculum built on the principles of Powerful Knowledge and capabilities. It set out how a curriculum could be designed with these principles in mind. Powerful Geography 2 progresses to explore how to teach this curriculum. This reflects a national trend in education in moving away from exploring the intent of a curriculum and now focusing on its implementation. It also addresses some points that are likely to arise from the current Curriculum Review and Labour's educational policy plans in the UK - especially around the notion of developing pupils' capabilities. The book starts by setting out why powerful knowledge needs a particular pedagogy and the principles that sit behind it.
