Aprašymas

"Emergence of Virginia Rath into a top-ranking place among writers of mystery yarns has for some time been a source of pride among her many friends in this area. Those friends are now given a chance to pursue a murderer in the academic hillsides of Berkeley and a proper chase it is.

"Into Berkeley, on a falsely advertised second honeymoon, rides one Ian Maclean, victim of a cruelly self-centered wife and a cousin of none other than Michael Dundas whose suave manner of solving crime puzzles is known to thousands of readers.

"The murder of Ian's wife shocks none in the strange assortment of Berkeley folk who were in the neighborhood and calls upon all of the Dundas skill to save him. The story gives us a complex group of persons, some side excursions into scandal and a skillfully handled plot. It deserves to be checked off as a 'best' of the season."
