Aprašymas
"Alexandra Geiger Morgan's Poems for Susan is an intimate homage to a sister loved and lost that weaves the reader into the complex fabric of the relationship. It's as though opening the book initiates a bond that holds us even as it reveals too much about what makes us family, what makes us feel close to ourselves or another. With the speaker and Susan, we
perform grooming rituals with "twin cysts," "white puss," and back rubs.
We sail the complex seas of sisterhood where old letters reveal "long emotional secrets" and "star-struck starts" but also crinkle with evidence of tense times. We wear the late Susan's clothes; we bake her pecan cookies, try on her "perfect blanket of dough," and finally "eat enough for us both." Meanwhile, Susan breathes every line alive."
