After accidentally unleashing a swarm of bats on the school musical, Finch Eaglehawk is ready to redeem himself at the battle of the bands. He's got it all planned out: he'll give a soulful performance (with laser special effects, of course) and finally have a chance to win over his crush, Ken Chu. But when new kid Magnus shows up with a heavy metal guitar and a "winner-takes-all" attitude, Finch isn't convinced that his glam-rock sensibilities are enough to win the contest. Further complicating his life: a pack of super-powered puppies have arrived in town. And to top it all off, Finch receives a challenge to a PetWizard duel that threatens to strip him of his powers if he loses.
