After the death of his father, George Ballingall (1764-1827) his mother left Rameldry and relocated with her children to St. Andrews where a young age took an interest in banking. He never married and resided at Greenock for a number of years. This then is the narrative of the life and times of Peter Ballingall, the oldest accountant of Greenock.
