There's many examples of fools who have no business doing so setting out on long sea voyages. Pirates do commandeer larger tanker ships and those ships are highly explosive. Equatorial islands are still home to certain indigenous peoples who practice cannibalism... maybe. Great Britain continues to lay claim to lands it has no rights to... occasionally going to war over those claims. ...and once upon a time there was the beautiful wife of a South American dictator who was loved and adored by her people.
