Aprašymas

The writing in this journal is about the paradox of Alzheimer's disease. While horrifying to watch, a daughter ' finds' her mother through the end-of-life vulnerable beauty this wretched condition revealed. As her mother's mental capacity waned, her essential self emerged, as she gradually returned to a simpler, happier place where her daughter could finally meet her and heal.

The story extends a heartfelt invitation to other daughters of dementia who also find themselves perfectly unprepared to partner with an aging parent struggling along the slow and shifting path of this disease.

Kim Kirschenfeld grew up in Alabama and earned a graduate degree in Psychology and a law degree before becoming a full-time writer. She lives and writes along the water's edge, splitting time between homes on a Gulf coast barrier island and a majestic surf break on the Paci fic side of Costa Rica. This is her first published book.
