While there is substantial amount of research on religion and ecology, there is no resource on ecological sustainability that brings different religious perspectives on ecology in dialogue with each other. 'On the Care and Balance of Our Common Home' does just that, focusing on the dialogue between Christian and Muslim traditions. One of the book's unique contributions is its bringing together of the Christian and Muslim perspectives on ecology, to raise awareness of the other's point of view, and indicate how to address the socio-environmental problems together. While each tradition has developed independent eco-theologies and have started various faith-driven ecological activities, the dialogue between them on environmental theologies and action is still scarce. This book fills the need for an accessible and academically rigorous resource to foster collaboration between these faith traditions for the care and balance of our common home.
