No Ungapatchka! (el. knyga) (skaityta knyga) | Deborah Kerbel | knygos.lt

Aprašymas

A spirited young girl learns the meaning of a new Yiddish word while developing her own bold style

Sarah is excited to choose her clothes for school this year. However, her older sisters have lots of rules about dressing for school, and the most important one is no "ungapatchka" -- their Bubbie's word for things that are bright, busy, weird, or loud.

Sarah tries her best to follow her sisters' fashion advice, but it's clear that her style is different from theirs. On Monday, she dresses in bright orange and gold polka dots that shine like the sun. And on Tuesday, she dresses like the rainbow outside her window. Her sisters are not impressed with her style choices, but Bubbie encourages Sarah to make her own rules for how to dress. And Sarah soon finds the joy of standing up for herself, even when that means standing out.

This colorful, expressive story will encourage readers to step outside the status quo, try something new, and embrace ungapatchka in their own lives.
