This collection of poetry was written during one serviceman's active duty in the US Army during World War II. It contains the personal hopes and dreams of a man who found moments of solitude to pen thoughts in poetic writing, to share his romantic love affair, a longing for home, and the rigors of life while serving his country. In deep and silent meditation, but far from total relaxation, I sit here each lonely night and search my thoughts for words to write.
