The book narrates the memories of the best experiences of my life and is a useful insight into the culture of Punjab. It illustrates life in Punjab before India's independence. It was simple living and more social. Living was natural as people used to sleep on rooftops, lived in mud houses, and harvested rainwater. Marriage had another institution of muklawa. The homegrown industry was thriving, such as cotton thread making with charkha and then weaving cotton bed mats or floor mats, desi ghee making, wheat flour grinding, vermicelli production, jaggery production, phulkari embroidery, etc. Entertainment was of native origin. The book emphasizes on:

- Life is what we still grow

- Our values are the very essence of living

- Life is to cherish and what we have to enjoy

- We owe to society, and now it is the time to repay
